Keeping up with thee Avery

As usual never a dull moment. Avery was released from the hospital last week and had been doing pretty good until Sunday. She spiked a fever and continued to have one through monday. I took her to the doctors to see her pediatrician Monday afternoon. They did another urine culture and it showed a high amount of white blood cells, which means she is fighting off an infection. Problem is she has been on cipro since she came home from the hospital and should be infection free by now. They gave me two options, either take her to the ER or wait until tomorrow to see if she still has a fever. I decided to wait since I had Titan with me. I couldn't imagine sitting in the ER for hours with him. So this morning she wakes with NO fever. Yayyyyy! Now we wait for the full urine culture to come back. If it is still showing Pseudomonas then we will be back in the hospital for a round of IV antibiotics.

Avery is home!

Avery came home yesterday. She is doing great. Glad this was a short stay at the hospital. As much as I love seeing all the nurses and doctors that love on Avery, I would much rather have her home. Jeremy and I are so used to her ventilator running at night, it was hard to sleep with her not there. We were have tempted to turn it on. She is on oral cipro and gentamiacin wash used in her bladder. Plus nyastatin for the thrush that the antibiotics cause. We'll get her fixed up in no time. So happy to have her smiling face at home.

                                                                     Titan's monster cake

The night Avery went into the hospital was the same day we had Titan's 5th birthday party. It was great! We typically wouldn't do parties at our house, because before it was to small. It was nice to entertain and have everyone comfortable( Loving our new house). Titan wanted a monster cake for his birthday. I found one on pinterest and it turned out super cute. I love pinterest, such great ideas.

Avery is back in the hospital

Avery woke up with a 103.6 fever this morning.  Her heart rate was 205 bpm, which is high.  Jeremy and I took her to the ER. After some blood tests, urine and sputum sample they found psudomonas. This is the same bacteria she had in her urine the last time, she  also has psudomonas tracheitis. They admitted her and have her on IV antibiotics.  We're not sure how long she will be in this time. Please pray for a quick recovery so she can come home.

Growing and learning

Avery and I  spend a lot of time working  on her development. We rotate through differnt areas around the house. Avery usually starts the morning off in her high chair for breakfast, then she moves to the floor for some tummy time, then to her saucer to put some weight on her legs, then to her support chair to strengthen her core. Getting her caught up with development is what everyone is concerned about. She amazes me everyday with her ability.
